That’s not a ridiculous suggestion! Unfortunately, yes I’ve already tried that and there is still no change. It seems there was a thread sometime back where the startup chime on the Mac stopped working but then did get fixed. I wish I could both remember when that happened, and also I wish I had a way of taking an old device like my old iPod Touch, which goes no higher than iOS 15.8, and take the iOS down to something like iOS 13 or 14. I’m getting increasingly suspicious that this little change happened with the release of maybe iOS 14?
