Hello Ricardo,

Could this behavior of the app closing be related to the question Juan asked a while ago about other radio streams closing? Paul mentioned an answer in the ooTunes FAQ (but this was in a period of very high list traffic). I'll excerpt what might be the relevant item from the ooTunes app FAQ:

Q: Why does the radio/music stop playing after 30 minutes of having the screen locked (if your ipod/iphone is not plugged into a power source)? A: This is a limitation of all 3rd party applications on the iPhone. Apple automatically turns off the network after 30 minutes of being locked, regardless of if the current application is using it. For now you can turn off the "automatic sleep" feature for ooTunes Radio in the ooTunes preferences in apple's "Settings" app. Hopefully in the future, Apple will change this, but they probably do it to conserve the battery. This only occurs if it is not plugged into a power source. We may be able to buffer more than the current song for playback without the network. However, that's not possible for a live stream.

Note that although the answer refers to live streams, it's a general issue for network access listening when the user is not doing anything but listening to material through a network connection using a third party app while not connected to a power source. I don't believe this is an issue if your device is connected to a power source (which could be the battery in your case, an external battery pack, or a USB charger) while you're listening for more than 30 minutes.

HTH

Cheers,

Esther

Hello list, I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

I have been having some trouble with the MLB at bat 2010 app. It will just close similar to the facebook app. I thought it might be a voiceover thing so I turned it off while listening to a live broadcast of my Yankees. The app still closed even with vo turned off. I don't even have to be listening to a live broadcast. It has occurred while viewing video highlights too. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this behavior? I'm using an iPod touch. This hick up doesn't happen all the time, but enough to get on my nerves.
