Sometimes, this might just occur because of server issues. There is a period of time, between when a computer receiving your e-mail and a computer sending your e-mail might not fully agree about if the e-mail was sent. Consider for example, if the computer receiving your e-mail is working very hard, malware, SPAM filteging, or maintenance activities. In this case, it might take a long time by computer standards, to acknowledge that the e-mail has been successfully saved on the receiving side. In some cases, the sending system will give up and hold the message for another attempt. You can determine if this is happening by looking for the full headers item in the view menu, and looking at the "Received:" headers. Every mail system that touched your e-mail will put a unique string called a messageId and a date time stamp of when it received your message. If all of the received headers on the duplicate messages do not match, then it is not your problem.
