Take a look at Honeywell. My HVAC contractor recommended one of these to me 12 years ago, and I have been very happy with the accessibility of the Honeywell /Total Comfort Connect app.
BTW, my contractor also strongly recommended against the Google Nest as well for a variety of reasons.
