Hello:
There is a lot to learn regarding the Mac, however, I’m confidant that over
time, you’ll learn Mac conventions, as well as how things work. The desktop
is always there. Here, is where, if you want, some files can be, or, it can
be completely blank. You can not get rid of the desktop, as it’s always
there. On the Mac, this is where some drives are also. For example: If you
plugged in a USB drive, it would appear on your desktop. The way you open
it, is by pressing control, option M, ,now as the context menu. Then, you
would use the down arrow key until voiceover says open. At this point, you
would press control plus option and the space bar to open your drive. If
you want to close that window, the keystroke would be command W. By the
way: The command key is to the left of the space bar, and on a laptop, from
the bottom left, the keys are: FN, Control, Option and command. The finder
is where you manage files and folders. If you’ve ever used a windows
computer, think of the finder as file explorer, or windows explorer. If
you’re ever in a finder window, press command W to close that window.
Finally, as far as mail goes, you can setup multiple email accounts, and
switch between them by organizing them. You would then use command 1,
command 2, command 3 to go from one account to the next. Setting that up is
a bit lengthy for this post, but in general, I hope this helps you.
