Here’s the scenario…

On the Mac I use Command+Shift+C to bring up the computer page in Finder. In 
the sidebar my iPhone shows up along with other volumes and folders, etc. If I 
accidentally eject the  iPHone I cannot reconnect it by simply removing and 
connecting the USB cable. I find it necessary to restart the Mac to get the 
iPHone to again show up in the Sidebar.

Is there a better way to make this happen? It seems that the Mac does not like 
to scan for newly-connected devices without a restart. And yes, I’ve tried 
forcing a restart on Finder, and that does not do it. Also tried a restart on 
the iPHone and that does not do it.

Any help?
