And that's something I find myself doing all the time. I keep trying to use the number pad as kersor keys and trying to control the kersor within both documents and websites. But hay no, it doesn't work that way.

If you try to think of the Mac in windows terms or how things work with a windows screen reader, you will find the transition to be difficult. There are significant differences between windows and the Mac in terms of accessibility. You can browse the web in what is referred too as DOM mode, which is as close to a windows screen reader experience, but then there is groups mode, which presents the web experience, more as a sighted person would use it or as close as is possible. IWorks is a great package and although not perfect yet, Apple continues to improve it. I think it will be more accessible than Open Office in the end. YOu of course have the option of running VmWare's Fusion and using WIndows if necessary. My point of all this is to keep an open mind, be prepared for a learning curve, and be patient. Also make sure you do some reading and familiarize yourself with the OS and VoiceOver if you have not done so. COnsider this one of the most exciting adventures you have undertaken and you will be pleased.
