Hello Kawal, I think the function for opening an e-mail from Address Book is broken. However, this is what works for me.
Go to the e-mail address you want in Address Book, and when VoiceOver has read the address, press VO-Shift-C to copy the last spoken phrase to the clipboard. You can then go to Mail and open a new message (Command-N) and paste in the contents of the clipboard.
