Allison:
No, actually it was command Victor. But thanks for the thoughts, and I'll
check that preferences thing. I'm thinking this has something to do with
trying to use the card reader and add directly to an SD card rather than
working through the Victor Reader stream.
Agian, thank you.

  Hi Carolyn and Tia,

Did I read correctly that you were pressing command D to paste? If I did
interpret that correctly, you should press command V as in victor to paste.
There is also something that you can check in system preferences I believe that
will show file extensions. I have this checked to show all file extensions.
Guess that comes from my windows background :)

All right so are you just trying to coppy the book from your finder window
to your sd card? If so all you should need to do is coppy the book and then
navigate to your sd card wich should be on the finder desktop window and then
when you are in your sd card folder open that and paste the file.
If you have further ?'s e-male me off line or add me to msn and I will try

ast session I found a book I had downloaded from the NLS website. I
know that on the pc, they usually download as zip files. I don't see any file
extentions on this book. When I right arrow, it shows the numbered files, like
you see in Windows when it has unzipped a zip file. So, now I want to put it
on my Victor Reader SD card using the card reader. I managed to put the card
in and locate it in the finder (it's called no name:))
I went back to the downloaded book, colapsed the book (by left
arrowing), and tried to copy and paste by pressing command-c, going over to the
sd card and into $dtb and doing command D. I get the ding, and no copy. Can
you tell me from tis description what step(s) I may be missing?

        TIA

I'm really falling for this Mac:)
        Carolyn
