Hi Erik,
You don't actually need to use a separate Apple travel adapter for
your MacBook's power brick -- any of the standard travel adapters can
be plugged onto the end of your regular plug. However, the travel
adaptor kit is convenient, if a bit expensive. My Apple Store put a
few of these on sale for $10 off about five years ago and I picked one
up. I may take one of these plugs along if I travel, but mostly I
make do with the regular travel plug adapters.
Cheers,
Esther

Hi guys, I am going to the UK soon. When I went in to buy a UK
adapter for my apple macbook, they would only sell me a box with
every power adapter known to man. So, if you plan to travel to
hongkong, china, europe, australia, japan, south america, or if you
are from anywhere in the world other than the UK, and you want a
north american one, give me a shout and I will sell you one.
