Itunes has been my enemy,  Although if you are coming from windows media player 
then you might not think ITunes is unwieldy.

Max is far more efficient than Itunes, offers an unbelieveable array of 
features and works hand in hand with ITunes if you want it to.  It's free and 
accessible.
