Hi when using speech recognition I plan on using a USB headset with microphone. My macbook pro has 4gigs of ram, 91gigs devoted to mac, a dual core pentium processor, and so anyway its pretty powerful. It should be able to handle speech recognition that is built into snow leopard, assuming the built in recognizer is accessible with voice over.
