Use a R/W CD. After burn and rip format CD.

ok, so I don't have to waste cds, I got a question. is there a way on the mac to instead of burning a physical cd. use a program that emulates a cd drive and when you burn with itunes, it burns to a .iso file? then you munt the .iso file and rip it thus you do not have to burn a physical disk?
