The chance of many web sites switching to html5 is better now than it has been. Since apple took a stand on not allowing flash on the IPhone, many developers will want their sites to work well for people using that platform. I've heard that a lot of sites are switching outright or developing mobile versions of their sites with html5. Sometimes it's possible to access the mobile site from your computer. The way to do so varies by site.
Hope this is useful to someone.
