Mike, Virtual box is not totally un useable. I use it daily and I have very few problems with it. Infact the only trouble I do have is the setting up of it's resources for any vm that I set up.
But your righ tin that VM fusion is the better of the two products. I use that also and find it very accessible but however I find it slower than virtual box but definately worth looking at. But I would if I could use parallels as my preferred vm system.
