Uh, yes, I think I can tell you what you're doing wrong.  You need to use 
command+o to open $VRDTB and then use command+V to paste in the book.

1.  Download the book.

2.  Navigate to 
c?Users/Caroline/Downloads

and use command+C to copy the unziped version of the book folder.  Note that if 
you're  downloading the book, you should just be able to press "show in finder" 
and this step would thereby be eliminated.

3.  Now, navigate to
No Name/$VRDTB (where No Name equals the name your mac designates for your 
card) and use command+o to open that folder.

4.  Now, just use command+V to paste in the book.  There's no need to interact 
with anything during this entire process.
