sorry but this is unbelievable.
I do a simply task in finder with strange results and you should not have this 
results?

It's not that I don't believe you at all, but I would like to ask to do a test:

e.g.
you have a folder: f1, on your usbdisc with the files a b
and another folder : f1 with files: c d on your homedir: /home/user/

if you chose to copy the folder f1 from /volumes/usbstic/ to /home/users/   
then, the finder will ask to replace f1 or stop the action.

If you chose to replace, /home/user/f1/ will have the following files in it:
 a and b.

This means the files c and d are lost...

Pls , let me know who has also this result...

of course , the path- and filenames are just a example.
