Hi Sarah: Until the os with the vo commands for keyboard comes out, I've found it a little cumbersome but very doable to edit just using arrow keys. Fortunately, iPhone messages tend to be short, so, it usually works out ok to do that. Not very helpful, I guess. But, that's what I've done.
