Hi Kimberly - I usually work with my macbook closed, but I have an external
monitor attached. When I'm done working I will put it to sleep by pressing
Command + Option + Eject on my external apple bluetooth keyboard, and when I
want to wake it up I will just press the Control key on the bluetooth keyboard.
I don't have any special settings in place for this, but when I tried to do it
with no monitor attached it didn't seem to wake up, so I'm not sure if it can
be done without an external monitor. Note that I am currently using a first
generation aluminum macbook, not a macbook pro, so YMMV.
