Hi Andrea,
As Scott says, you can also check key sequences and combinations by
using VoiceOver's keyboard practice mode. I did the original checking
with the Think Outside Stowaway keyboard paired to my iPod Touch, and
cross-checked on my Mac, but now that OS 4.1 is released, you can
check things directly on your iPhone. (Scott, nothing bad did happen
on the iPod Touch, but I found one odd set of key combinations
launched Exposé on my MacBook -- ugh. I think that was the Right Fn
key pressed together with the comma key just above it on the Stowaway
keyboard. You might want to give that one a miss.) I'll cc this to
the macvisionaries list.
This is the model "Think Outside Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Keyboard"
Part #XTBTUE with 4 rows of keys. (This is the "Sonoma" model)
Think Outside Stowaway Keyboard (14+13+13+11)=51 keys in 4 rows
Top Row: tab qwertyuiop-= delete
Second Row: caps lock asdfghjkl semi-colon apostrophe return
Third Row: shift zxcvbnm comma period up arrow shift slash
Fourth Row: Ctrl windows/Command Alt/Option left Fn left spacebar
right spacebar left arrow down arrow right arrow forward delete
(Note: key names of "delete", "return", and "forward delete" are based
on what VoiceOver on a Mac announces when this keyboard is paired to
the computer, and these keys are pressed in keyboard practice mode.
These keys are conventionally labeled as "back space", "enter", and
"delete" on PC keyboards. Although VoiceOver announces the Windows key
as "Command" and the Alt key as "Option")
The left and right Fn keys are used to type numbers and for a few
other special characters, such as the "escape" key (Left Fn+tab key),
which can be used for the context menu options to select a word spelling
Top Row with left Fn key pressed: escape 1234567890 left bracket right
bracket (no new function for delete key)
Top Row with right Fn key pressed: (no new function for tab key) !...@#$
%^&*(){} (no new function for delete key)
This layout is very close to the MacBook keyboard layout -- the
remaining characters are typed as follows:
second row accent = Left Fn+apostrophe; tilde = Right Fn+apostrophe
(where apostrophe is beside "Return")
third row backslash = Left Fn+slash; vertical bar = Right Fn+slash
(where slash is to the right of "Shift")
The two keys in question are the key to the left of "Enter" (="Return"
on Mac) and to right of the "Right Shift" key.
Because the Think Outside Keyboard folds in half along the vertical
axis of the keyboard, and then snap locks into position when open, the
bottom spacebar key is split into left and right spacebar keys that
are longer than the regular keys. The left spacebar key is below the
"v" and "b" keys, and extends just a little further to the left beyond
the left edge of the "v" key from the row above. The right spacebar
key is below the "n" and "m" keys, and is slightly shorter than the
left spacebar key -- its right end falls a little short of the right
edge of the "m" key above it, by about the same amount as the left
spacebar key extends past the left edge of the "v" key.
Numbers are typed by pressing the left Fn key (key just to the left of
the long, left spacebar key on the bottom row) in combination with the
top row letter keys. The shifted number key characters are typed by
press the right Fn key (key just to the right of the long, right
spacebar key on the bottom row) in combination with top row letter
keys. They can also be typed by pressing the left Fn key in
combination with the shift key plus the top row letter keys, but using
left Fn + Shift instead of right Fn involves holding down more keys.
HTH. Cheers,
Esther

Andrea, the right function key when pressed with any of the top row
keys will give you numbers etc. Try it out, that is how I
learned. :) I figured nothing to bad would happen. :)

Didn't someone post on the functions of the think outside
keyboard? I have looked high and low for it and can't find it.
Mainly I wish to know how to switch to the numbers row on the top
row? I cannot tell? Thanks. Everything else you might have to
post would be terrific!
