Hi Eric

The thing with VoiceOver is that the screenreader interrupts itself when new
information is displayed. THis is extremely handy, in fact, but not in
applications such as text-based environments like Terminal.

Growl will work with Skype. When you start Growl, you may have to relaunch for
Skype to show up in the "Applications" tab. This is because the application
needs to register itself with Growl, and if no registration is received, it
will simply not work. That's in a nutshell. I could go much more in-depth here
as to why, but that's not that important.

You can find the Speech style in the "Display" tab. When setting this style, it
will become your default. This means that, if you select an application to use
with Growl in the "Application" tab and click "Configure", every time you tell
a particular application to use the "Default style" it will do just that
(Speech being default in this case). Default is also the standardized option
for all applications unless you change this.
