Hi Sarah,
Some shortcuts are either experimental or don't stick, since there are
only so many keyboard shortcuts to go around. There are various
things one might discover while poking around on the Mac -- some
shortcuts get posted on the "Mac OSX Hints" web pages, and there were
various iTunes shortcuts for expanding multiple folders and refreshing
feeds that you can find in the archives. There was one shortcut for
buying songs that seemed to only last about a few weeks before it
disappeared. (It was never officially announced). I've used the dock
navigation shortcuts for nearly a year or so, I think. I've just
never seen this combination mentioned. My guess is that some things
get a trial apprenticeship run because someone thinks they might be
useful, and the survivors emerge in the next OS version. And apps in
the dock can also be launched by pressing space bar, like the original
directions for opening bookmarks.
Cheers,
Esther

Yep i don't understand why these are not documented. Did someone
forget over at apple hq or do the devs not know about there own
keyboard shortcuts?

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for that, I actually prefer using Command+Down arrow to open
web page bookmarks, so I'll start using that. Using space bar to
open bookmarked web pages is the way the help description
officially uses, and back in the dark ages of Tiger it was the only
keyboard shortcut that worked. A few of the Command+arrow
sequences have temporarily disappeared at times. For example, lots
of people use Command+Left arrow to move back a page in the web
browser instead of the "official" Command+Left bracket. There was a
time in the Safari updates when that shortcut went away. And, in
fact, Command+Left bracket doesn't work if you're giving shortcut
instructions to a user who wants to move back a page and doesn't
use VoiceOver.
Also, there are some shortcuts with the Command and arrow keys that
I either haven't seen documented or have forgotten the source, if I
did see them. For example, if I'm in the dock, I can press Fn
+Command+Down Arrow on my MacBook to move to downloads section and
area where I've placed folders in my dock.
HTH. Cheers,
Esther

Actually I press cmd down arrow to open it. I didn't know about
the space bar.
Take care.

Hi Sarai,
You launch bookmarks by pressing the space bar, not by pressing
VO-space, which will indeed bring up an edit field for you to
rename the bookmarks.
