Hi Geoff, I don't have the problem you and others are having with the announcement of misspelled words. I went through all my VO settings and tried to duplicate your results. I think I might have found the problem. Under verbosity in VO utilities, I have "while typing speak" set to characters and words. When I changed this to none or character, pressing spacebar after a misspelled word did not announce it as such. So try setting the "while typing speak" to characters and words and see what happens.
