First, the new IPod touch is wonderful.  I find it very stable and easy to use.

You'll need some way to connect when you're on the road.  If you use WiFi 
hotspots or have a mobile hotspot you'll be good.  Here in the US I use the 
IPod in conjunction with a Sprint Overdrive 4G adapter and it rocks.
