Hi Ray - I'm of the opinion that computers running OSX should at least have some form of basic malware protection, and preferably a full suite of security tools. If you'd like to hear my reasons, please contact me off-list. There is a decent, free, VO accessible, multi-language, open source anti-malware program for the Mac called ClamXav. It uses the same open source ClamAV anti-malware engine Apple supplies with OSX Server. Itt does not offer all the bells and whistles of Virusbarrier, but it will supply at least a minimal level of protection with regular malware signature updates at no cost.
