Hello all. Wow, so okay. I have absolutely no idea what I did, but apparently
I managed to hit some key combination that modified the way VoiceOver interacts
with the Finder window, as well as Mail. I wish I could provide a better
visual description of what is happening, but I'm afraid I don't quite
understand it myself. Basically, rather than arrowing through the list of
files or folders, I have to tab through the list. My husband, who is sighted,
said it appears as if the cursor is moving from section to section of the
window, as opposed to the next item in the list. However, when VoiceOver is
turned off, things appear to operate as normal. Anyway, assuming nobody has
any suggestions as to what in the world I may have done, and how to fix it, can
anyone perhaps tell me how I might go about resetting my default settings for
VoiceOver? That is, of course, if it can in fact be done. I suspect I must
have pressed some key combination that triggered the change, but I have to
admit it is becoming rather frustrating. <grin> I am using a macbookpro, Snow
Leopard. Oh, and if it matters, I currently have my view set to listview,
which is what I typically use...

Thank you so much for any help you can offer!

Jenny
