Hello Pete, This is what Archie suggests you do to fix your problem.
Make sure System Preferences is not running, then trash the file: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.universalaccess.plist Then reopen System Preferences and reset your Universal Access preferences using the Ctrl-Scroll zoom if necessary.
