Hi, It is just a 2 step process. First you will want to go into the settings in iTunes and under advance, change the default iTunes music library to the folder on your external that contains all your music. Then copy and paste the iTunes .xml and other iTunes file onto your external. These should be found in your home folder under music/iTunes.
