Apple has a Ethernet adaptor that plugs into the USB port on the MBA.

Even my Asus Netbook has ethernet (gig if memory serves). Sure you might use wireless but there are lots of settings where having an ethernet port would be beneficial including being able to take packet captures, attach to networks in the field, diagnosing problems and so on. I wouldn't buy a laptop with out ethernet.
