Hello Jeff,

I use find and replace in both TextEdit and Pages a great deal with no trouble. 
Having clicked on REplace All, did you navigate left to find out how many items 
had been replaced? Also, did you check whether you had it set to ignore case or 
not?

I really can't understand why it wouldn't work for you.
