nope the built i mic on the macbook pro at leas tthe 13 inch model I have is right above the escape and f1 keys tweeters for the left and right channels are located under the shift keys aproximately, with a "low" frequcy driver embeded near the screen it actually appears to have 3 drivers from what I can hear sing some tubing like a stethoscope it's worth playing with audio hijack pro just to hear what te built in mic is hearing sometimes, also the ambient noise reduction can be very dramatic in it's effects and might account for some of the speech recognitin issues. I will give it a try with that mic, and with my mixer and studio mic and see what I come up with. I'll let you know if I come up with anything new
