Sorry I'm entering late on this thread but my comcast internet was down for 
several days.  If the goal is to record old vinyl records to your mac, I did a 
podcast some time ago that shows how to do this step by step using the Griffin 
mic, a usb turn table, and Amadeus Pro.  It is located on blindcooltech.com    
I think it was called Vinyl to CD with Amadeus Pro.  I was a pretty new mac 
user when I did it and it is a bit long.  On the other hand I tried to be very 
specific and guide a new user through the process of recording a vinyl album 
and even how to divide it into individual tracks. 

I found the process difficult to learn on my own so created the podcast to try 
to help a blind new mac user or new sound editing program user master the task 
without all the frustration.
