you might have to put in the install disk, restart, turn on voiceover in that install session, then run disk utility and run the first aid on that disk. there is a possibility that you have a file corruption.
I have had to do this at least once back when snow leopard first came out. it turned out to be a bug that was corrected in 10.6.3. also, if you can, have an apple rep either in person at your local apple store, or on the phone from apple tech support to help you.
