Hello,
Lately Openoffice has been recommended as accessible and working fairly well so
i thought i'd give it another spin, and this is what grumpy old me has found.
After my findings, i will post some questions.
Writing is no problem in Writer, which i use the most, in fact i haven't been
into the other apps in the suite, because i don't really know how to handle
them, Reading in writer, however, is a totally different matter.
You can't use VOs read all command, that just doesn't work, either you hear one
sentence or word then it stops or you hear nothing.
The problem that always has been in OOO, where you for every new line being
typed get a separate edit box, or so Vo believes, is still there.
When i tried to select text, nothing was spoken to indicate that text had been
selected at all. Either i do something wrong, or the functionality with telling
if something is selected just isn't there in VO.
I don't know if it is me who don't give the program a fair chance or what it
is, but i find Openoffice not workable, at least not writer, so i wonder, how
do people do to go around the program? Do you read text with the arrows or the
voiceover commands? When i read with arrows, the text got repeated 2 times,
very anoying.
Does anyone have any tips that can be useful in dealing with Openoffice?
Any help would be appreciated since i really want to learn the beast if i am to
demonstrate it to others.
/Krister
