Thank you!  I did finally manage to get things working.  And just as I had 
suspected, it was my own ignorance stopping the show. :-)  I am still in the 
process of becoming completely comfortable with voiceover, and learning when to 
tab verses using the VO modifier keys with the arrows to navigate.  For some 
reason, I was looking for a pop-up button that said "title", as opposed to 
navigating such that the labels themselves were being read, not just the 
selection within the pop-up button.  Anyway, it's all good now. <grin>
