For what I know, the problems you are having may be the result of a VO
bug. The commands to enable and disable the software functions are on
the system status bar: I mean that item you can reach by pressing
VO+m+m. VO cannot read all the items present there. For example, dropbox
places an icon there, but VO doesn't show it at all. VMWare has the same
problem. And many other applications too.
