Hi Donna, I haven't had too much time to play with the sense. Not long after
I got it working finally, the company whose demo unit I had commandeered
decided they wanted to sell it and switch to an apex demo. I'll do my best
though.

Any work around?
Try this.
Press control option f8 for the voiceover control panel.
Press n for navigation.
Tab to automaticly interact when using the tab key and if it is checked, press
space to uncheck it.
Let me know how that goes.

I wish I had a satisfactory answer for this, but unfortunately I don't. It has
been known to happen without braille display. Some times for no reason that
anyone can pinpoint, quicknav turns itself on. It doesn't ever seem to work
the other way around oddly enough. I didn't experience this while I was
playing with the sense, but again, I didn't work on it for very long. Best I
can do is speculate that the two issues are related.

Well, since you can't issue command J from the braille display, you might try
pressing a router key above the message you want to read. This will open the
message in it's own window and allow you to read it. Then you'll have to
navigate to the close button and press it since you can't issue command W from
the braille display. I've talked to apple about this. Not being able to issue
system or program keys from the display is very crippling.

Finally you wrote:
I have looked at the Commands in the Commands table, but I'm not finding
answers there. That table is just a small portion of the commands available to
you. There are hundreds. If you push the add button it will open up a whole
new world of braille display useage for you. One thing that helped me no end
was to set up braille display keys that act as the for arrow keys. You can
find these options under the braille menu in the hotkeys dialog. I did this
for a braille connect. Not sure what you would use on the sense, but having
system arrow keys on my display instead of direction arrows for the voiceover
curser has enriched my braille experience no end.

Hope this helps,
