Hi all,

We have an old linksys router that has served us wonderfully for several years.
But it is time to move on and upgrade to something that will give us higher
speed wireless, now that none of our wireless devices require the older 208-11G
protocol. Between us, we have an IPod, IPad and an Android phone that will
connect wirelessly as well as a pc laptop. And we have pc and mac desktops that
will connect via wire, except perhaps for my Mac if there aren't enough cable
connections on the airport extreme. I'd like to get the Airport Extreme, but my
sighted husband is worried about connectivity with his pcs. I was so impressed
with the ease of set up with the airport express and the Mac and am quite wary
of the newer pc-oriented routers that all seem to want you to install
proprietary software, unlike our old linksys. So, does anybody have experience
in setting up an airport extreme in this environment? What can one do about the
limited number of cable connections for wired computer set up off the router?
If this isn't sufficiently vo-related, reply off list would be find, but I hope
it fits within the criteria for the list, since one of my reasons for wanting
to go this route is to ensure accessibility of set up and compatibility with my
Mac and other I-devices.
