Hi all, I was reading the thread about problems with the new Audio Hijack. I had this problem too. My mic was set to soundflower, and didn't record. I installed instant hijack and this didn't fix the problem for me. I had to go over to the input tab on the default system input setting and from the menu select internal mic. This seemed to rectify the problem as I recorded a podcast on online grocery shopping afterwards. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful day.
