To those of you who answered my questions about Audio Hijack in conjunction 
with Skype, thank you!

1. I erased the second Skype entry in the components list, but I was initially 
alarmed by the result.  The Components list disappeared.  However, clicking on 
New Session restored it in its entirety.

2.  As soon as I erased the second Skype entry in the components list, I was 
once again able to interact with the toolbar.

So all's well that ends well, and I thank all of you.
