Hello Jorge,

To ensure that your document is marked as being in Portuguese, do the following 
in Pages:

• Select All (Cmd-A);
• Open the Inspector (Cmd-Option-I);
• Select the Text radio button;
• Select the More tab;
• Go to Last visible item (VO-End);
• Navigate left until you find the popup button for language selection and 
select Portuguese.

This should solve your problem.
