Hi,

As long as the app is both an iPhone and iPad app, then you can place them on 
both your devices.  If both these devices are syncing to your Mac and if they 
were purchased under the same iTunes Store account, then you can put them on 
both devices.  As a matter of fact, if you also had an iPod Touch and the app 
was compatible, you could sync it there as well.
