Only thing I can think of is, in Skype Preferences, under the General category, make sure that you have a valid path for saving the file. I have "automatically accept incoming files," UNchecked and to the right of that, a spot to specify where to save them. Make sure wherever you're trying to save them to is a real folder; I just have mine go to "downloads."
