I've had similar problems, it sounds like the touch tones send, but the system doesn't respond, and after entering several numbers, the touch tone feature no longer works. I don't know, originally I liked skype 5 better, but the more I use it, the more I'm seeing lots of small problems that when combined make me think that perhaps skype 2.8 was a bit better.
