Hi Mike -- According to Other World Computing the first generation aluminum unibody macbook does indeed support 8 gb of RAM. Note that this is in reference to a macbook, not a macbook pro. You can get more details at OWC's website, macsales.com . I suggest looking at the hardware tav in your system profiler to get the model identifier, which will be something like "macbook6,1." Having that identifier can help you search for the correct memory.
