Hi Krister, Sorry for the length of this, but I have three options for you. The first rebuilds your iTunes Library, and the other two use sorting to perform this for you. I'm not aware of any utility to do this but just because I'm not aware of it doesn't mean that there isn't something out there.
Option 1: If you don't mind having to rebuild your Playlists, then the easiest way to do this would be: 1. Select the Music item from your Source Table. 2. Navigate to the Music Table and Interact with it. 3. Press cmd-a to Select All. 4. Press the Delete or Backspace key. 5. You will be asked if you're sure, press the "r" key on your keyboard and all items in the Music section of your Library will be removed. 6. iTunes will ask if you wish to move these items to the Trash as well or if you'd like them to remain in the iTunes Library. Keep them in your Library, that is, don't move them to the Trash. 7. Don't panic, they're still around. 8. Press cmd-o to add items to your Library. 9. Press cmd-h to bring focus to your Home folder. 10. Navigate to the Music folder and expand it. 11. Select the iTunes folder. 12. Stop Interacting with the list and press the Open button. Everything will be repopulated into your Library DB. If you have Movies or other non-music items, iTunes will not re-import them into the Library DB, they will simply be ignored. Option 2: If #1 is not preferable due to the loss of Playlists, then you'd could try the Display Duplicates item under the File menu. Then sort your Library by the Song name column, which will place all duplicates beside each other, then go through the Table deleting what you don't want. Option 3: When in the Music Table, sort by the first column by pressing VO-shift-backslash when VO is focused on the first column. This sort should place all the "missing linked" items together and then you could quickly delete all of them which would consequently make your job of getting rid of the other duplicates a lot faster since those "missing" files would no longer be in the Library. Hope this is clear enough. Later...
