Hmm, you can not purchase any version of Apple software. You can purchase the right to use it. This is true with almost any software you "purchase". THough I believe what you are trying to say and believe me we have heard you and at some level I expect 95% of the readers of this list agreee is that you feel more comfortable having a 30 cent disk that you own with Lion on it. I still have 7 versions of MacOS X CD and DVD's hanging around my office along with a few earlier versions.
But when you get down to it, it takes 2-3 hours to install from disk and then download all the updates and then re-install the other applications. Hopefully the e-partition (asTech Tool Pro calls it) will be safe, though Eric B has indicated he has had problems in the past.
