Hi,

Yes the MacOS will do a regular time synchronization with whatever NTP server 
you have set it to.  This is set in the Date & Time System Pref in the regular 
GUI.  Anything that you can do with the GUI you can usually do in the Terminal, 
so I would expect that there is but I'm not familiar with it.  I'll look into 
it and see what I can find.
