Hi, Karen, The meetup site is not as friendly with a screen-reader as it used to be, but still works okay. Sometimes, in particular, when you RSVP to an event, it will pop up a confirmation window near the bottom of the page. If you find you aren't noticing a page change, just check out the bottom of the page for the confirmation.
Having said all this, I find m.meetup.com , the mobile site, to be much easier to navigate. The only tricky aspect of it is that some features aren't available on the mobile site. For RSVP-ing and reading your events, it works fine, though.
