It's also worth noting that, at least in our experience, even though you tell it to use POP3, it doesn't change the port number from 993 to 995. If this happens to you, it will just not work and won't be clear why.

To fix it, go to Mail Preferences, choose Accounts from the toolbar and select the Advanced Preferences tab.
